Our Story

Having the opportunity to write, photograph, and publish with Laramie County Community College's paper, Rebekah (Firebrand News President) had a desire and passion to design her own news media website and literary magazine outlet.

She was inspired by the forefathers and wanted the ability to write what she believed was truthful without the biased opinion of newspapers.  She felt hindered in her freedoms of the press and speech which is a right as an American Citizen.  Thus, came the idea of Firebrand News.

The word "firebrand" is actually a Biblical term.  In the Hebrew dictionary, it means: "to shine; a flambeau, lamp, or flame."  In other words, Firebrand means a citizen's ability to shine.  But the freedom of the press in this case is shining truth like a flame.
